Battlestar Galactica: piece of shit.

The biggest since ST:TNG, and for the same reason: the unholy union of girly soap opera and actionless, brainless plot with just enough gadgetry to claim to be "futuristic". Even the promos piss me off, with their soundtrack of weepy power ballad and expressions of intense concern instead of grim resolve. I want better sci-fi, dammit.

I like it quite a bit, though it certainly suffered from trying to do a 10 episode show over 20+ in the second season. Nothing creates filler better than relationship crap. Then again, I freely admit that I am definitely not a sci-fi fan so don't even know what is supposed to be good sci-fi and what isn't.

Oops, that last part can come off snottier than I intended. I just meant that I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the world of sci-fi.

I don't have any hard rules for what makes good sci-fi, but I do know that's not it. Maybe if they compacted it into a 12-episode season it wouldn't be so mind-numbingly slow.

I have to agree, there is waaaaay too much personal baggage being aired. It gets on my nerves. I want to see more cylons getting blown up. I asked Richard Hatch what he thought of it at Gencon. He said it was okay but they should have called it something else.
